Difference between LED display and LCD display

LED displays have many advantages over LCD displays in terms of brightness, power consumption, viewing angle, and refresh rate. Using LED technology, it is possible to create displays that are thinner, brighter, and clearer than LCDs.

However, the focus of this article is coming: the LED display on the market is not the real sense of the LED display; accurately said, it is an LED backlight type LCD display, and the LCD panel is still the traditional LCD display. Samsung, a South Korean firm, was found guilty by Britain's Advertising Association of breaking the country's advertising laws because its "LEDTV" LCD TVs were misleading. For LCD, the most important key is the LCD panel and backlight type, and the LCD panel on the market generally uses a TFT panel, which is the same. The difference between LED and LCD is that they have different backlight types: LED backlight and CCFL backlight (that is, fluorescent lamp), diode and cold cathode lamp, respectively.

There are still real LED TVs (which can actively light up without a backlight) on the market. Sony and Samsung both have them, but their panels are under 11 inches and very expensive. For example, Sony's 11-inch AMOLED TV is priced at about RMB18,000, which belongs to the high-end market. So there are very few on the market. According to general naked eye observation, the LCD screen and LED screen color difference is not very big. If you only want the name LED to cost a disproportionate amount of money, it is not necessary.
